This film was Dan Lin’s first ever project in filmmaking. Prior to this, he had worked extensively as a photojournalist in the Pacific region. He entered into the film world as a response to the complexity of issues arising from the Pacific and with a desire to provide a more visceral experience for the broader audience. He is primarily interested in telling stories of Indigenous peoples and their connection to the land and sea.
