Chou Wah-shan graduated from the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Hong Kong University. Later he took a doctor's degree at York University, England. He returned to Hong Kong University to teach in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. From 1990, he wrote many works such as Destructure of Hong Kong Movies, Revelation of Meaning and Explanation, Homosexualism, “The Closet” Sexual History and the Story of Peiching Homos.
