Petr Lom was born in Prague in 1968 and grew up in Canada. He has a Ph.D. from Harvard in political philosophy and used to be an academic before becoming a fulltime documentary filmmaker. His first film, Bride Kidnapping in Kyrgyztan, played at TIEFF in 2005. On a Tightrope is his second film.
