At the age of 21, Takumtã is the eldest son of Samuagü Kulkuro and Tapualu Kalapalo. He lives.in the Kuikuro village of lpatse, next to the lake of the same name, in the Xingu Indigenous Park In the state of Mato Grosso. Fascinated by the camera since the first video workshop in 2002, he has since become a committed filmmaker. He has recently married and now divides his time between the camera, his wife and his obligations towards his in-laws. He supports Flamengo and learned to speak Portuguese in Rio and Olinda during translation and editing workshops.
As the dry season comes to an end, it’s the time of celebration and merriment in the Alto Xingu. The smell of the damp earth is mixed with the sweet perfume of pequi. But it has not always been like that: if it had not been for a death, the pequi would possibly not exist.
